Thom Browne: Men from outer space

Thom Browne used to be an actor in Hollywood before he became a salesman in an Armani showroom and, later, a designer for Club Monaco in New York. Only after these three lives did he set up shop with his own menswear label in 2001. Browne has been credited with popularising the nerdy and slightly shrunken suit that became ubiquitous a few years back. Today he continues to delight the otherwise so often blasé fashion industry with his playful catwalk shows.
