Nicholas Kirkwood

Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, not as a fashion designer, but as a fine artist. This lineage becomes apparent in his work: the signature platform shoes, sculptural forms and fantastical materials do make an artwork of every shoe. They are small feats of technical prowess too, no technique is left unchartered in order to express what needs to be communicated. And in the midst of all this, his designs have become among the most coveted in the world.
