Last year they performed in Amsterdam's pop temple, the Paradiso, and this summer they can be heard at the Arnhem Fashion Biennale. The British band Bat For Lashes promises to make the Opening Ball on June 1st, 2007 into an unforgettable musical experience. By invitation only.

The band itself gives a fairly off-beat description of its music. ‘Halloween when you're small, dreaming by the sea, pine trees, UFO's, children's choirs, broken hearts, ... dark night-time lovemaking,' it states on their MySpace page. It's therefore hardly surprising that their sources of inspiration include David Lynch, The Virgin Suicides, Donnie Darko and E.T.

Though they like to paint an enigmatic picture of themselves, their music is still beguilingly accessible and romantic. The band's debut album, Fur and Gold, was certainly favourably received by several major British newspapers.
